Robert De Niroand girlfriendTiffany Chenhad a parents’ night out at the 2024Oscars.
De Niro also embraced his costar from 1976’sTaxi Driver,Jodie Foster, ahead of the ceremony.
“He called my mom about the part, and she thought he was crazy,” Foster toldVanity Fairin 2016 of how De Niro helped her get the part as a teen. “But I went in to meet him for an interview. My mom thought, with my school uniform on, there was no way he’d think I was right for it. But he said yes, and she trusted him.”

“[When I] look at her, everything else goes away,” he said. “So it’s a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment.”
Chen and De Niro first met on the set of 2015’sThe Intern, where she played a Tai Chi instructor who helped his character. They started dating in 2021 following his November 2018 split from ex-wifeGrace Hightower.
His nomination forKillers of the Flower Moongives De Niro a career total of nine Oscar nods, putting him alongside just 17 other performers, includingMeryl StreepandDenzel Washington, who have eight or more acting nominations.De Niroportrays William Hale, the dubious political mastermind and self-proclaimed King of the Osage responsible for a series ofbrutal murders in the Osage Nation. Hale was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Killers of the Flower Moonreceived a total of 10 nominations, including best picture, at this year’s Oscars, just behindPoor Things, which received 11, andOppenheimer, which picked up 13.
