Love Is Blind’sMilton Johnsonand his fiancéeLydia Velez Gonzalezare taking the next step in their relationship.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek of an upcoming episode of the popularNetflix dating series, Milton meets Lydia’s family for the first time after getting engaged in the pods.
“With Lydia, it’s really good because we always find that compromise,” Milton, 25, tells her mother and brother.
Lydia, 32, is in full agreement and adds, “He listens. I say I don’t like this and he immediately tries to correct this. He tries to understand why it bothers me and I do know and I am reassuring you that I know that you have my back and that is one of the most important things and I do not take that for granted.”

Her mother then responds in Spanish and her brother offers to translate, saying, “She has always been the adventurer. She’s always been the one to do things that have been the most emotional things.”
Her mother clarifies that her daughter is “passionate” before becoming emotional. Her mother adds, “I love you so much.”
“I know you do," Lydia responds. “I love you too. You’re my everything.”
After her mother speaks in Spanish again, her brother translates, “The only thing I want is for you to be happy, both of you.”

The family get-together comes after Lydia’sbombshell revelationin the pods that she previously dated fellow participant,Uche Okoroha.
Though viewers didn’t get to hear what Milton was thinking in the moment, he recently opened up to PEOPLE about what was really going through his head afterlearning the information.
“That’s typically what I do. I put my head down, I revert into my shell for a second, and then I just think,” the petroleum engineer explained. “And I’m like, okay. I’m very logistical with the way I plan things out. And I thought about it and then I said, ‘Okay, now what is my heart telling me?'”

“And everything aligned up and I said, ‘Oh, well, this is before me. We all have a past, we all have exes.’ It didn’t bother me,” he said. “It was just like, yeah, okay, no problem. That’s interesting. Now what are we doing next?”
What ended up following for the two was a proposal inside the pods, to which Lydia said yes. The next three episodes, set to drop on Friday, will follow Milton and Lydia as they meet face-to-face for the first time, embark on a “honeymoon” in Mexico and eventually move in together.
But like with any couple, the two will also have to adjust to life together — including meeting each other’s friends and families, figuring out how to cohabitate, and ultimately, deciding if they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
