Yesterday Nikonrevealed its D800 DSLRleaving photo and TV swot alike salivating for sample . Eager to show off the D800 ’s TV capabilities , Nikon left it to filmmaker Sandro Miller to make a film meant to make us drool . And so we have Joy Ride , which chronicles the journeying of one man and his motorcycle … and not much else away from a superfluously double-dyed accouchement view .

The piece is pretty , but these mental test films generally do n’t tell us very much about the execution of the television camera . They are too controlled ( delay out the behind the scenes footage to the left hand ) and produced with the sole intention of making thing look as luxuriant and juicy as possible . Nikon has so far failed to produce a DSLR that videographers covet as much as Canon ’s 5D Mark II . It ’ll still be some meter until we see how the D800 measures up to further examination .
