metropolis Of Ember was one of the best science fiction picture show of 2008 , with terrific performances and unbelievable production design . So why is it getting such a filthy DVD ?
I was super excited to get an beforehand copy of the Ember DVD . Partly , I was looking forwards to relive the story of two Kyd living in an underground metropolis who discover their postapocalyptic reality may be different than the adults consider . As the city ’s source fail and the food stocks play out , the adults all passively wait for some mythical savior and cartel in their corrupt city manager , but the kids piece together the clues and see a way out of the city into the remote world .
Ember have incedible yield design by Martin Laing , admit sets that comprised a immense chunk of the urban center itself , and awing attention to detail . Plus , “ Barrow ” Harrow , the father of one of the Thomas Kyd encounter by Tim Robbins , build up ton of amazing robots and mechanical devices , and they all have this cool jagged look to them .
For whatever reason , Ember bomb at the box part , but I securely believe it could have a new life on DVD , both as a cultus classic for adult and as a must - watch kids ’ picture . Sadly , Fox does n’t seem to have as much religion in the movie as I do , at this power point . For one affair , they give it a dreadful DVD natural covering , which makes it bet like Eragon IV .
But more to the point , there are no extras . None . I gravely thought I was misconceive the DVD bill of fare for a while . There is an “ extras ” pick , but it only lead to trailers for pic like Garfield ’s Cocaine Orgy . And there ’s no Blu - Ray release . At all , as far as I know .
