What if there was a fashion to enjoy a day at the beach no matter the time of year or weather outdoors ? California - born creative person Jonathan Schipper may have just come up with the perfect result : Anart installation inside a galleryfeaturing a hot tub standing in for the sea , and tons of salt doubling as sand .
The installation is call Salt Machine because in addition to serving as a secret beach , visitor can build guts — or salt — castles without ever have to leave the passion of the hot tubful . A mechanism suspended and ensure by four cable attached to mechanise block can reach all corner of the gallery , on occasion stopping to craft crude castle , layer by layer , like a 3D printer .
The giant printing machine can actually extrude unrefined representation of almost any object , but we ca n’t let go of the romanticized feeling of being able-bodied to spend a mean solar day at the beach , all class around , without ever going alfresco . Now if only the Salt Machine could squeeze out suntan software as well . [ Jonathan Schipperviadesignboom ]
