David Michôd ’s post - apocalyptic drama The Rover is set up 10 years after a globose economic collapse that devastated many citizens across the major planet . And now you may take a close-fitting look at the apocalyptical lineage that was the beginning of the end .
The Rover , itself , is set in the Australian outback and focuses on a duo of scramble survivor who have to fight each other for the meagerly rations and possessions they ’ve pull off to hang on to through the last 10 years . But a more detailed internet site has been create forThe Roverthat track the collapse of society .
The timeline(which we have a few screengrabs of below ) shows the spill that “ reduce Australia to a grievous imagination - rich third world rural area . ”

Thenthere ’s the single-valued function of the new worldthat was created :
And this is all just set up for Michôd ’s play ( star Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson ) . According to the director , all of the above leads to a great escape to the outer sphere of the Australian Outback . People looking for jobs work the mines “ that feed the new world alignment , that eat the great powerhouses of this , the Asian century . ” Here ’s more of what Michôd is hop to transmit :
“ The world of the movie , as such , mirror the American and Australian gold rushes of the 19th C . People are drawn to the land ’s mines and with them come the leeches , the garbage , the hustlers and criminals who hope to exploit the mines ’ margins .

This is n’t a gross collapse of society – it ’s an inversion of present - day planetary power kinetics . This is Australia as resource - copious Third World country . This is the violence and unrest of contemporaneous Sierra Leone or the Democratic Republic of the Congo .
And at the centre of this world are two men – one , a murderously embittered Australian valet de chambre , a former soldier who has lose his farm and his house ; the other , a simple and primitive American male child , too young to remember a time when things were anything other than what they are . ”
It sounds interesting ; we like that he ’s put this much thought into a smaller cast drama . Fingers crossed it turn in . The Rover will opens June 13 in New York and LA and across the nation on June 20 .
