The actor, 32, who plays the treacherous Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in the upcoming movie, appeared on Thursday’s episode ofJimmy Kimmel Live!to talk about the hotly-anticipated sequel alongside his costarsTimothée Chalamet,Zendaya, andFlorence Pugh,
“Austin, did you miss your eyebrows making this movie?,” Kimmel, 56, asked in reference to Butler’s character’s look.
“It was so liberating not having eyebrows," Butler replied. “You don’t realize how much they weigh you down,” he added with a laugh. “I was just streamlined."
“Did you shave the eyebrows?,” Kimmel then asked the star.
“I was going to a job right after and with this director named Jeff Nichols,” Butler explained. “And Jeff said, ‘They can afford to make you bald cap but we can’t really make you hair. So can you just get a bald cap?' So that’s what I did.”
“So the bald cap came down right here to your eyes?" questioned Kimmel.
“We had the most amazing hair and makeup team and they sculpted,” responded Butler.
As for how many hours it took for theElvisstar to get into the bald cap so he could keep his eyebrows for his next movie, Butler revealed, “It was three hours a day and that was when they brought it down,” adding that it was “about five hours.”

“Wow! I would have just glued on a couple of eyebrows,” Kimmel joked. “One big Eugene Levy style eyebrow, like Bird fromSesame Street.”
“So what you’re saying is you made a sacrifice for this film and it would be nice if people went and saw it,” Kimmel continued, to which Butler replied, “That’s exactly what.”
