Nelly and Ashantiare ringing in the new year from afar!
The rekindled couple may have been in different locations on Sunday night, but it didn’t keep them from celebrating together as Nelly went live on Instagram with his girlfriend, who performed aNew Year’s Eveshow withJa Ruleat the St. James venue in Springfield, Virginia.
A little later in the session, Nelly’s song “E.I.” played, which caused them both to smile and sing along.

Ashanti and Nelly have been linked on and off since 2003, but the musicians confirmed in September that they weregiving their relationship another go.

“I think it surprised both of us,” said the “Country Grammar” artist, adding that their rekindled relationship “wasn’t anything that was planned.”
Since reconnecting, the two have been public with their love. For Ashanti’s birthday in October, Nelly gave her adiamond chain necklaceand a diamond-encrusted watch.
“Enjoy your day Ma you look awesome!!!! Happy Birthday Love ya!!!!” he concluded.
Then in November, theGrammy-winning starthrew Nelly a surprise 49th birthday partyin Atlanta, complete with karaoke. Both her parents and his flew in for the big day, as well as his four children.
