That TV artist whose software grabbed pictures of Apple Store computer users ? He ’s been tracked down by Apple and raided by the Feds . He had to see this coming .
Every sunup for three Clarence Shepard Day Jr. , Kyle McDonald would trek down to the New York Apple Stores in SoHo and West fourteenth St. and instal software that mechanically uploaded pictures from computer cameras each minute . Hecaptured lots of bored faces for his picture and websiteincluding , apparently , one shot of an Apple technician at headquarters in Cupertino , who was investigating his software system .

Then this morning , aver Mashable , four private service agents showed up with a computer fraud warrantand impound his computers and gear . McDonald told Mashable “ he get permission from Apple ’s protection sentry duty to take photos in the store , then expect customer if he could take their photos , ” but he sure as shooting did n’t get permission from every single person whose face he captured ; his software system was installed on 100 different computers , each taking a photo a second . “ As i understand , ” McDonaldtold us , “ photography in open blank is sound unless explicitly prohibited . The only permission follow from the sentry duty . That enunciate , i totally understand if someone does n’t wish the means they take care , and would be glad to withdraw their picture from the set . ”
That ’s a good pointedness : An Apple Store is a public property . Beyond that , anyone in a location controlled by Steve Jobs should feign they are under constant surveillance . Duh .
