Apparently the ban is going to cover both film - only product and cases that contain protective screen door . It applies to products both cosmetic and protective across all Apple product lines . And while they did n’t give vendors an explicit rationality for the move , some have speculated that it ’s a move by Apple to advertize their screen strength claims .
It ’s for sure not due to deficiency of popularity . The number one deal iPhone and iPod cases are anti - glare motion-picture show , and they ’re the sixth and seventh most pop iPhone and iPod accessories overall .

Of course , these products will still be available through channel outside of the Apple Store , which make it even more perplexing . If people require a picture show screen for their iPod or iPhone or Mac , they ’re going to be capable to find it whether it ’s in the Apple Store or not . And when they do , that ’s business organisation Apple ’s missing out on . [ iLounge ]
