TheMean Girlsmovie musical is now streaming — and according to one of its stars,Lindsay Lohanwas “pregnant as hell” while filming her cameo.
Lohan, who led the original2004 movieas Cady Heron, makes an appearance in the new reboot of theTina Fey-written hit. The 37-year-old actress plays a moderator of the pivotal Mathletes tournament oppositeAngourie Riceas Cady.
TheParent Trapstar welcomed her first child, sonLuai, with husbandBader Shammasin July 2023. But she filmed her scene before giving birth, asReneé Rapprecalled onWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohenlast month while raving about how “excited” she was for Lohan’s cameo.
“She’s the coolest, obviously, and it was also like such a blueprint,” said the 24-year-old, who plays Regina George in the newMean Girlsmusical film. “She was alsopregnant as hell at the timeand so I remember like, I love babies, I’m ageist.”
Rapp added, “So I was so excited that she was there because she’s Lindsay Lohan and she’s so cool and hot but also like, she was pregnant.”

The movie is adapted from the award-winning musical from Fey, Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin that premiered onBroadwayin 2018. Inheriting the role of queen bee Regina George fromRachel McAdamsis Rapp, who made her Great White Way debut in the role beginning in 2019.
Making special appearances in the new movie alongside Lohan are Fey, 53, andTim Meadows, reprising their roles from the 2004 film, as well asMegan Thee Stallionas herself.
In addition,Ashley Park— who wasTony-nominated for originating the role of Gretchen Wieners on Broadway — appears as a new character, French teacher Madame Park.
On thered carpetof the film’sNew York City premiereon Jan. 8, Lohan was asked if sheidentifies as a “cool mom"after welcoming her son. “I hope so,” she told PEOPLE exclusively with a laugh.

Rice, 23, told PEOPLE exclusively last month that sharing screen time with Lohan during their big scene “meant so much to me.”
“It issuch a rare experienceto really get in the head of a character and then meet someone who’s done the same thing,” she said. “Just to have that shared experience, it means a lot.”
Shouting out other stars who have played her character, includingErika Henningsenon Broadway, Rice added, “To know that Cady has been a part of so many actors' lives and so many actors have delved into that character — she’s bigger than the actor in a way."
Last fall, Lohan also revisited theMean Girlsuniverse as Cady nearly 20 years later in a buzzyWalmart commercial— alongside the original film’s cast membersAmanda Seyfried,Lacey Chabert,Rajiv SurendraandDaniel Franzese.

Asked at the New York City premiere about a possibleMean Girls 2, Franzese, 45, told PEOPLE that theoriginal cast “are all down” to do more.
“You got to tell the boss lady over there,” he said, referring to Fey. “I’m sure [she’s] heard it a million times, but she’s the gatekeeper, so we’re all waiting.”
