certain , there’salready a TV show in the workplace — but news just broke that MGM is bring tobring killer - doll classic Child ’s fun backto the big screen .
Collider and The Hollywood Reporter both report that director Lars Klevberg ( Polaroid ) is attached to aim a reboot , write by Tyler Burton Smith ( Kung Fury 2 ) and slated to be produce by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame - Smith , who worked on It . Production is supposed to start in Vancouver this September and casting has yet to be harbinger .
There ’s no prescribed word on how this picture show will go about the franchise , but rumor is it would involve a “ technologically advanced ” wench . That sense almost in footprint with several subsequence that have taken the serial and the character of Chucky — both of whom debuted in 1988 — in campy and uncivilised novel directions . However , there ’s no verification if it will actually even be Chucky as the grampus doll , if Brad Dourif will return as the vox of Chucky , or if series creator Don Mancini will be involved . In fact , the recent revelationof that TV series by Mancini makes it seem less than likely he ’d be involve in this . But that ’s all just speculation .

If product is starting so soon , odds are answers to these questions will be coming earlier rather than after . For now though , it just seems likely we ’ll see Good Guy dolls down on blind once again .
